SD-WAN Course

1-Day Cisco SD-WAN Fundamentals
(Instructor Led Virtual Session)

Introduction

SD-WAN is an acronym for Software-Defined Networking in a Wide Area Network. SD-WAN simplifies the management and operation of a WAN by separating the networking hardware from its control mechanism. The primary motive of SD-WAN is to build a high performance WAN links by utilizing low cost Internet links and Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) connections.

Cisco is an industry leader in the area of SD-WAN. This introductory course on Cisco’s SD-WAN foundations workshop provides insight into the motivation for SD-WAN by highlighting the present networking challenges in building and maintaining large scale WAN. It focuses on SD-WAN and specifically Cisco’s innovative solution which brings in a new approach to managing WAN with ease by introducing their proprietary Overlay Management Protocol (OMP). The course provides an in-depth understanding of various Cisco components and deployment models along with configuration and management.

The primary objective of this workshop is to introduce Cisco partners to SD-WAN concepts, Cisco SD-WAN architecture and features, and equip them with scripted learning labs to further their SD-WAN skillset.

Pre-Requisites

This is an introductory workshop on SD-WAN with no specific pre-requisites. However, to get most out of training, participants are expected to have prior knowledge of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, network provisioning and management.

Target Audience

  • Technical Leaders/Managers
  • Software Engineers
  • Network Engineers
  • Technical Marketing Engineers

3-Day Cisco SD-WAN Foundations Workshop

(Instructor Based)

Introduction

SD-WAN is an acronym for Software-Defined Networking in a Wide Area Network. SD-WAN simplifies the management and operation of a WAN by separating the networking hardware from its control mechanism. The primary motive of SD-WAN is to build a high-performance WAN connectivity by best utilizing various WAN connectivity options such as low-cost Internet links and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) connectivity.

Cisco is an industry leader in SD-WAN solution. This introductory course on Cisco SD-WAN foundations provides insight into the motivation for SD-WAN by highlighting the present networking challenges in building and maintaining large scale WAN. It focuses on SD-WAN and specifically Cisco’s innovative solution which brings in a new approach to managing WAN with ease by introducing their proprietary Overlay Management Protocol (OMP). The course provides an in-depth understanding of various Cisco solution components and deployment models along with configuration and management.

The workshop includes many hands-on exercises by emulating a large-scale WAN topology with Cisco’s SD-WAN components. Learners will be able to deploy and configure Cisco’s SD-WAN and experiment with various WAN policies to deepen their understanding of Cisco’s SD-WAN technology
