Criterion Networks Announces Cloud Delivery Platform for its Global Customers

Criterion SDCloud Platform is a scalable on-demand cloud deployment and provisioning platform for evaluating SDN, NFV, OpenStack solutions.

Using the Criterion SDCloud platform, customers will be able to deploy OpenStack cloud environments with their choice of SDN controller in a matter of minutes. With operators and enterprises moving towards SDN/NFV adoption, Criterion Networks announced today that it is launching Criterion SDCloud Platform for delivering its integrated SDN/NFV solutions and related offerings.

Criterion SDCloud Platform is a scalable on-demand cloud deployment and provisioning platform for evaluating SDN.NFV.OpenStack solutions. Unlike other cloud platforms, Criterion SDCloud platform will let its users provision their OpenStack cloud with a selection of SDN controller options.

Since the inception of Criterion Networks in 2013, it has been at the forefront of enabling the transformation of operators and enterprises to a software centric network paradigm and cloud based delivery model. In addition to SDN/NFV solution design and integration for operators and enterprises, Criterion Networks has been offering a highly scalable automated cloud deployment framework and workforce skill transformation workshops in SDN, NFV and OpenStack technology domains. Criterion SDCloud Platform helps bring all the above elements together in a single delivery platform and reach a global customer base in an on-demand service model.

One of the current pain points for customers is the amount of time and learning needed to deploy, integrate and provide a new deployment grade cloud environment to create, validate and scale a new use-case solution. Using the Criterion SDCloud platform, customers will be able to deploy OpenStack cloud environments with their choice of SDN controller in a matter of minutes.

With main options provided by users as input, Criterion Networks’ advanced service orchestration engine installs the controllers, services, databases, takes care of any dependencies between services for enhanced reliability and performs rigorous unit tests all in the matter of minutes to provide you a clean running system so that engineers can be assured of working on a high quality production grade setup.

The platform currently supports Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) use-case solution and can be used for evaluation, integration testing, learning, solution development and validation purposes. The platform also offers SDN.NFV.Cloud learning labs with guided hands-on exercises to help customers retool their work force towards software centric skill sets.

“Transition to a software-centric, cloud based delivery model has taken broad acceptance today. It has become an imperative that network operators imbibe the new virtualization, cloud and value-added service offerings so that they can increase their service revenues and ensure good business growth. Criterion Networks is a lead transformation partner in this transition journey and our Criterion SDCloud Platform plays a central role in collaborating and delivering our solutions to the customers.” said Srinivas Vegesna, CEO, Criterion Networks.

Criterion SDCloud can be leveraged by VNF providers to integrate their solutions with OpenStack and by application developers to create a base platform to develop new applications on top of it.

Attivo Networks is working with Criterion Networks as its Cloud solution partner to develop an integrated end-to-end OpenStack based Attivo solution for its customers. “Partnering with Criterion Networks, we are able to leverage Criterion SDCloud, which enables our customers to bring up custom clouds on-demand with their choice of SDN controller and simplify the PoC process for evaluating new security offering for the SDDC. Using this platform, customers can deploy in matter of days rather than months.” said Tushar Kothari, CEO, Attivo Networks

Criterion SDCloud platform is available immediately on an invitation basis and will be available broadly in Q2 2016. Customers can register on the Criterion Networks website to express interest for a SDCloud demo and a demo user account. Criterion Networks will continue to work closely with its customers and partners to onboard new software solutions to be integrated and made available in the SDCloud platform.
